Teacher Appreciation Opportunities
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible Metro Nashville Public Schools teachers. Teachers have been working extra hard to support student learning and wellbeing this year, and we are so grateful for their commitment to student success.
Join PENCIL is celebrating our teachers in the following ways:
Write a note of appreciation
PENCIL is proud to participate in Southwest Airlines' 50th year celebration: One Million Acts of Kindness campaign, to help thank our teachers. Through this campaign, we are asking everyone to write a note of appreciation to a teacher, so we have encouragement to share as they begin the new school year. Share your thanks: https://forms.gle/yyrFnHYFncybXWB69
Participate in our Together 4 Teachers campaign
Teachers often pay for supplies out of their own pockets to bridge the gap between what families can provide and what is needed in class, which can shift the focus off of learning and supporting their students. As a community, we can remove these barriers for our teachers and our students. By supporting the Together 4 Teachers campaign, you ensure our Metro teachers have an environment stocked with the supplies they need to start the school year.

17th Annual A Little Night of Music
On Thursday, April 29, PENCIL returned to the Grand Ole Opry House to celebrate its 17th Annual A Little Night of Music. More than 200 business and community members joined us for a socially-distanced happy hour and exclusive LIVE performances, featuring Willie Jones and Drew Holcomb.
During the event, PENCIL raised more than $231,460, ensuring we can continue delivering on our mission to linking community resources to Nashville public schools to help young people achieve academic success and prepare for life
Together, we can ensure that one day access and opportunities are equitable for all students to have a successful future.
