About Emily
With a B.A. in Songwriting from Belmont University, Emily's style is somewhat eclectic, taking influence from artists in the folk, pop, and jazz genres. She has released two independent projects to date: a self-titled EP in 2012, and a full length album, Not Nearly Home, in 2014. Although she has been on something of a hiatus in recent years, she is ready to come back onto the scene with many new songs, a more mature sound, and a desire to connect with her listeners on a more honest level. Emily's upcoming EPs, Evening and Morning, will be much more introspective than her previous work, exploring the tensions between God and humanity, love and loss, faith and doubt, cynicism and hope, insecurity and acceptance, restlessness and peace. Her unique sound is characterized by complex original guitar work, an abundance of harmonies and strings, and a voice that is warm and pure, yet deeply evocative. Emily's music can be found on all downloading and streaming platforms.
