Meet Beth Bush
Chief Philanthropy Officer, Nashville Zoo
With over 30 years’ experience in nonprofit management,
Beth has devoted her life to human services and critical
causes. Her career includes 21 years with an international
humanitarian organization; she was COO for the national
headquarters of an organization dedicated to a rare disease;
and VP of Philanthropy for organizations that focused on
cancer, children in the foster care system, epilepsy and
international conservation.
In her current role, Beth leads the philanthropic efforts of the
Nashville Zoo. She builds relationships with individuals and foundations; helps companies
create strategies for supporting work that saves endangered species, furthers local and
international conservation efforts, provides educational programs to almost a half-million
youth and families, and is helping the Nashville Zoo become a destination zoo – an asset
to our local, regional, and state communities and economies.
Beth has significant experience raising millions of dollars for nonprofits, planning local
and national conferences and events, strategic planning, and growing the capacity of
organizations and their boards.
In her spare time, Beth enjoys travel, shopping, and spending time with her husband, two
daughters, and two grandsons who reside in Florida.
