DESCRIPTION:Women of the VUE is our Quarterly event designed to focus on women in business in the Bellevue and surrounding areas.\n\n\n\nThis month's event is focused on Work/Life Balance and Self Care.\n\n\n\nOur speaker is Angie Adams\, President & CEO of PENCIL. Angie will talk to us about how we can balance our hectic professional lives with social and family obligations. \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, we will have several vendors on hand to help you relieve stress\, take care of yourself\, and treat yourself to something special. \n\nShop 30 minutes before the event at 11:00 or after the event at 1:00!\n\n\n\nThrough educational and networking events\, we hope to bring together women of all ages and backgrounds to address issues related to professional development and leadership while creating a robust mentoring and support network that fosters success in both careers and community engagement.\n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you there!\n\n\n\nAngie's bio:\n\n\n\nAngie Underhill Adams currently serves as the President & CEO of PENCIL\, a nonprofit\n\norganization with the mission of supporting public education. She has been in this role\n\nfor almost three years and has focused programming to support the school district's\n\nstrategic plan\, increased board engagement and giving\, and moved the organization to\n\nan incredible new facility. She aided the PENCIL board and staff in creating a new\n\nstrategic plan\, which is focused on supporting Metro Nashville Public School's (MNPS)\n\nkey Partnership targets   Elementary Literacy\, Middle School STEAM\, and High School\n\nIndustry Certification Exams. Angie's passion is to use PENCIL's work to break the\n\ncycle of multigenerational poverty by providing more opportunities to public school\n\nstudents.\n\nMs. Adams has 25 years of experience providing financial and administrative services\n\nto a variety of nonprofit organizations both as a management level staff member and a\n\nfreelance consultant and trainer. Before joining PENCIL\, she served as Executive\n\nDirector of Nashville Ballet where she led a very significant capital campaign and\n\nphysical expansion project to allow School of Nashville Ballet to double in size. Under\n\nher leadership the Ballet significantly expanded its class offerings\, number of\n\nprofessional performances annually and garnered a much higher level of community\n\nsupport and engagement.\n\n\n\nMs. Adams was named a 2017 Women of Influence by the Nashville Business Journal.\n\nShe has a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Belmont University's Honors Program\n\nand now serves as an adjunct faculty member at Belmont. She is a board member of\n\nFALL Aerial Dance Company\, a Literacy mentor\, an active member of The Rotary Club\n\nof Nashville\, and regularly volunteers with Nashville Public Radio. Ms. Adams is now in\n\nher 32nd year of dance studies and continues to take a variety of dance classes. Her twelve year old daughter is a proud public school student.
