DESCRIPTION:Join us for great peer to peer connections and a great presentation from our speaker\, Claire Marshall Crowell.\n\n\n\nAs a Williamson County native\, Crowell grew up in the grocery and restaurant business: her father\, Andy Marshall\, owned a string of Piggly Wiggly stores before purchasing Puckett's in Leiper's Fork\, Tenn.\, when she was 11 years old. Throughout her high school years\, Crowell helped run tables at Puckett's. Following her 2008 graduation from Middle Tennessee State University\, she took on a management role at Puckett's in Leiper's Fork\n\nuntil Rob Robinson bought that location. She transferred to the downtown Franklin location\, and when Marshall expanded the Puckett's brand to downtown Nashville in 2010\, Claire was at the helm as the restaurant's General Manager. Significantly larger than the Franklin restaurant\, Puckett's Nashville far exceeded revenue growth projections after its first year in business.\n\n\n\nIn 2013\, Crowell was named the Director of Operations for A. Marshall Family Foods Inc. and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2015. Today\, she helps manage operations of Puckett's Gro. &\n\nRestaurant locations in downtown Franklin\, downtown Nashville\, downtown Columbia\, downtown Chattanooga and downtown Murfreesboro (opening early 2017)\; Puckett's Boat House in downtown Franklin\; Puckett's Trolley\, the brand's mobile food venue\; the multi-layer Homestead Manor property in\n\nThompson's Station\, Tenn.\, and Scout's Pub in the Franklin community of Westhaven.\n\n\n\nCrowell spearheaded the development of Hattie Jane's Creamery\, an artisan ice cream shop that opened in July 2016 next to Puckett's Gro. & Restaurant in downtown Columbia and is named after her daughter. A second Hattie Jane's Creamery will open in early 2017 next to the new Puckett's Gro. in downtown Murfreesboro.\n\n\n\nIn 2014\, 2015 and 2016\, A. Marshall Family Foods Inc. was recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies\, under the direction of Marshall and Crowell. It also was awarded the Nashville Business Journal 's Best in Business award in 2015.\n\n\n\nCrowell is involved in various industry and community organizations\, serving in leadership roles for several of them. She currently sits as vice chair for the DISTRICT organization in downtown Nashville\, and serves as the president of the board of directors of the city's independent restaurant association\, the\n\nNashville Originals. She is also a member of the Women in Business Steering Committee for Williamson\, Inc.\; the Tennessee Hospitality and Tourism Association\; Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals\; Heritage Foundation's NextGen group\, and Williamson\, Inc. Young Professionals. Crowell has been honored with numerous awards\, including recognition in Nashville Lifestyles Magazine 's 2015 "Women in Business" issue as a leader moving the city forward\, and a finalist in\n\nNashville Area Chamber of Commerce and YP Nashville Emerging Leader Awards in the Hospitality and Tourism category in 2015. She received a "Women of Influence" award by the Nashville Business Journal\, as well as a Williamson County IMPACT Award\; the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee's inaugural Outside of the Box Award\; and the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association's Young Professional Emerging Leader of the Year Award\, all in 2016. In January 2017\, Crowell was named a recipient of the Nashville Business Journal 's prestigious "40 Under 40" awards.\n\n\n\nCrowell lives in Franklin\, Tenn.\, and is married to Tyler Crowell of Corsair Distillery. Together they have two daughters\, Hattie Jane and Eliza Ann.
